Expanded Concepts - Part 1
The Secret: The Law of Attraction - the universal principle that like attracts like, or in Oprah's words "what you think about expands"
Example from the movie "The Secret": The gay man who is treated horribly at his office job, is booed off stage as a comedian, and is accosted by hateful strangers wherever he walks. Then he changes nothing more than his thoughts - starts thinking well about himself and expecting others around him to treat him well also. Within weeks, he was no longer hassled by strangers, all the mean people he worked with had either transfered or left him alone, and he became popular as a comedian on stage.
Wealth: 5 aspects - financially, physically, intellectually, relationally, and spiritually
Example: Some people who are spiritually rich are financially poor, or are physically wealthy and intellectually poor, or financially wealthy and relationally poor, etc., thus their life feels out of balance. When your life is balanced you have wealth in all five areas... though this does not mean you have to be a millionaire to be financially wealthy or a buddhist monk to be spiritually wealthy, etc. Whatever feels wealthy to you in each aspect is just fine - maybe enough money to live comfortably now and be saving for retirement at a certain age, or enough spirituality to meditate daily or simply experience a deeper connection with all other life, or enough physical wealth to always get a thumbs-up at your yearly doctor check-up, etc.
The universe is abundant, yet most people have a scarcity mentality
Example: Not every woman wants to be with the same man - maybe a few women want the same man temporarily, but there's practically enough men to go around for every woman! But it's pretty common to hear women complaining about there being "no single available men around"! There are plenty, but they're not all within a ten mile radius! Basically, if you believe in scarcity, you'll have scarcity. Ever heard the expression, "we can't all be... doctors" (or lawyers, or basketball players, etc.)? Well, that's debatable, but the key is that not everyone wants to be the same thing, and the people who are successful and wealthy are the ones doing what they enjoy, what they love to do. If you really wanted to be a doctor, you'd find a way to become one, and I'll bet you'd be pretty good at it if you enjoyed it. So if everyone wants different things, there could very well be enough for everyone to be happy, but most people don't really know what they want and don't believe they can have it. Once you stop believing in scarcity and start believing in abundance, you'll have abundance.
True forgiveness is saying, "thank you for giving me that experience"
Example from the Oprah Show: A woman in the audience had been blaming her dead husband for years for having left her alone to raise two sons and she had been miserable ever since his death. Once she understood that all she needed to do was forgive him, and in the process forgive herself - give herself release from the poison she had been filling herself with from grief and blame - she was so relieved. She became grateful for what she has and is able to live her life again.
