What I like about Vision Boards (aka Visualization Boards and Treasure Maps):

I like how a Vision or Visualization Board is uniquely your own... whatever expresses you best and you can have both words and images on it.  Although it would seem to me that exact images like photos, computer print-outs, and magazine cut-outs would be more affective for a Vision Board and Visualizing the things you want in your life, research actually suggests that making your own creations like drawings, sketches, paintings, etc. are more effective!  Maybe because it's a more involved process to create your own image and make all the little links in your brain and body (like in "What the Bleep Do We Know!?").  I like the way the real images look on my board better than the ones I draw myself, but I try to incorporate both since each is best for a different reason.  I also recommend that you hand write any words you put on your own Visualization Board rather than typed or cut out, since this is also more effective.  Also, I like things organized and separate better than too much too close together, so I layout the images and words on my Vision / Visualization Board in a neat and tidy way rather than all jumbled together like a messy collage like the example that Lisa Nichols used on the Oprah Show (though there's nothing wrong with it for her - it should look best to you and your tastes).  I also like have two separate Vision Boards with different goals and concepts on them.  This is because one is more personal to me that I don't like to leave out for others to view, while the other one is less personal and I enjoy looking at it frequently and it doesn't bother me if anyone else sees it.  You can also incorporate anything you have and are grateful for into your Vision Board since this gives you positive feelings and reminds you of your success, and when you're grateful for what you have, you are open to receiving more things that make you grateful!  For more information, see the Articles on Vision Boards:  http://goodkarma.org/node/17  and Visualization: http://goodkarma.org/node/18
