Visualization - Effective Method, but Misleading Term

Visualization is commonly used by professional athletes to improve their sports performance - proven to work and proven that the body reacts realistically whether you're only thinking about actually doing something or actually doing it! Visualization is mentioned in both "The Secret" and "What the Bleep Do We Know!?". The term is misleading since first of all, the visualizing is done from your first person perspective - you don't visualize yourself from an outside perspective, and also it's less about visualizing clearly than feeling realistically. That means, I may not have a crystal clear image in my head of what I want to visualize, but if I feel it in my mind and body like it's really happening, that is the best way to visualize.

Trouble visualizing...
What if I am having trouble feeling what I'm trying to visualize - I can see it clearly, but it's difficult to view from my own perspective and I mostly just see it instead of feel it?
Thanks,
Chris
Do the real thing or take a break
Chris,
If you're having trouble feeling your visualizations as if they're really happening, give the method a rest for about a week while you explore other methods. Also try putting yourself into the actual environment or similar environment that you might use in one of your visualizations, like a really expensive clothing store, a fancy hotel lobby, a football stadium, or whatever relates to what you're trying to visualize. Feel the feelings you get in the real environment as you imagine having achieved your goal, and remember those feelings so you can bring them out when you visualize your desire as you already have it. For example, if your goal is something like making $250,000 per year so that you can afford any clothes you want, then go into the expensive clothing store you would want to shop at and when you're in there browsing, pretend as realistically as you can that you do make $250,000 per year and you can have any clothes in there you want, and try them on if you want. And remember your feelings when you resume visualizing.
