"The Secret" - Law of Attraction - In the 2004 Presidential Election of Bush

Does anyone remember the build-up to the 2004 Presidential Election, specifically, the 'predominant' attitude of "not Bush" or "anyone but Bush" and all the yelling and shouting about what Bush had done wrong?  Have you ever heard the expression, "any publicity is good publicity" or "there's no such thing as bad publicity?"  How about Lisa Nichols (from "The Secret" and the Oprah show) saying "the universe doesn't hear that you don't want it" (what you focus on expands, whether you want it or not).  Do you see where I'm going - what went wrong in the election and how to avoid a similar situation in the future?  By saying "not Bush" and putting all that energy into saying how bad Bush was, we not only failed to make an actual decision about what we did want, but we put most of our energy into "Bush."  We did exactly what "The Secret" and the Law of Attraction tell us not to do.  Since what you think about expands and we were thinking about Bush, we got Bush.  It's just like when you were in grade school and the teacher was looking for someone to call on and you sat their silently saying to yourself with desperation, "not me, don't call on me" and then the teacher called on you!  You attract into your life what you focus on, so make sure you focus only on what you want!  What if we had completely ignored Bush and just started promoting all the good things about the Democratic Candidate or whoever else?  If we had been more positive and proactive about one particular candidate, do you think Bush still would have won?  We'll never know, and the past is not important, so long as we learn our lesson and don't repeat the past!  From now on, when we're choosing our President, let's be aware without focusing too much on what we don't want!
