What is the Law of Attraction?

The Law of Attraction can be described very simply in several different ways.  First of all, it's called a "law" because those who believe in it, know that it works all the time, without fail.  The Law of Attraction can be defined in the following ways:  1. The universal principle that like attracts like.  2. The principle that what you think about expands.  3. The principle that what you think about and feel about, you bring about.  4. The principle that you get what you believe subconsciously, or what you expect at the subconscious level.  5. The principle that energy flows where attention goes.  6. The principle that what you focus on grows.  7. The principle that you attract whatever you focus on, believe, or expect.

Does the Law of Attraction work?  How?

It works for attracting what you want and also what you don't want.  For example, if you repeatedly say, "I don't want to be late" - you're attracting things that will make you late, even though you don't want it, because you're focused on "late."  Or if you say, "I just know I got a notice in the mail" (even though you don't know yet, but you expect it), you're attracting a notice in the mail becuase you're focused on "notice in the mail."  Most people have a habit of focusing more on what they don't want, so they get what they don't want.  Then when they suddenly try to change their habits they've had for years (or all their life) in a few days or weeks or months, they get discouraged and disappointed when things don't work the way they want them too in a short amount of time.

But it's not that the Law of Attraction isn't working - it is still working in their life, just like it always was, but whereas in the past their conscious mind and their subconscious mind both expected what they did not not, now their conscious mind is focused on what they do want while their subconscious mind is still expecting what they don't want, so they still get the same things they don't want.  The difference between what the conscious mind focuses on and what the subconscious mind believes is what frustrates people into thinking the Law of Attraction doesn't work.  If you can figure out what your subconscious believes by realizing the subtle messages in your mind, then you can figure out that you are using the Law of Attraction and getting exactly what you believe, and you can also start to reprogram your subconscious mind to fit with your conscious mind in order to start using the Law of Attraction to get what you want.  It just take a little more time and effort than some people are willing to give, but it is different for everyone.  See the methods for Clearing Negative Thoughts/Beliefs/Judgments on this site for more help in reprogramming your subconscious mind.

This is precisely why the Law of Attraction is not about how hard you wish for something, as the nay-sayers explain it!  Wishing for something merely on a conscious level while your subconscious believes the opposite, will result in an unsuccessful wish, but a successful use of the Law of Attraction.  To use the Law of Attraction for what you want, you must decide and state what you want, in the positive, like "I want to be on time for work tomorrow morning" then believe even at the subconscious level that you can and will be on time.  If your subconscious is stubborn and still believes you will be late, then try the methods for clearing negative beliefs.  When you go to bed at night, say out loud 5-10 times your desire and your intend to be on time tomorrow.  (Right before and after sleep is when your subconscious mind is most open to reprogramming.)  Say it out loud again to yourself as you get ready in the morning, and say it with the belief and the feelings that you will be on time.  (Feeling, not thinking or words, is also what reprograms your subconscious.)  There is absolutely no way that this won't work for you if you do it right (reprogram your subconscious min to agree with your conscious mind)!

Laws of attraction: no positive reframing

Are you a therapist? This is plagiarism, in that this theory is cognitive-behavioral 101. Combined with The Secret and positive visualization. At least source your "insight" as there are actual professionals who have tested this i.e. A. Ellis.
