Well, The Secret strikes again.  A year ago I was crafting my goals and dreaming my big dreams.  I would watch a couple movies I downloaded from thesecret.tv every day that encouraged me to dream big.  And I dreamed big.  June 2007 was Script Frenzy at Nanowrimo and I took a stab at writing my first screenplay.  I didn't get very far, but I learned a great deal about the process and the format.  And spent some time imagining my thank you speech when accept my Best Original Screenplay Academy Award.

This year Script Frenzy switched to April and caught me unawares.  I was busy with other goals that month (attended my first Toastmasters meetings!).  Imagine my surprise today, 5/30/08, when my boss called me to a meeting where he proposed having me write the script to a training video for our company.  Suddenly I'm a screenwriter.  Not overnight, and not over any route I would have imagined my progress, but a year after I first tried to write in script format I find I am being paid to write a screenplay. 

Don't think it can't happen to you because it can.

For me, I see the Secret working on a 20/20 plan.  If you focus on the 20% upfront work you need to do to achieve your goal, and fantasize how you'll feel during the 20% of time you're living the goal, then you'll attract the vibrational 60% that makes the connection.  I studied screenwriting format and practiced writing a scene on the page, and fantasized about being a professional screenwriter.  And now I'm on my way. 

Of course, this requires that I take on the assignment and throw myself into completing it.  But that's not a big deal because screenwriting was part of the whole fantasy.  I want to play this way.   And I will have a supporting cast ensuring my success.
