Manifest Your Desires Through Meditation

Meditation in its various forms is praised by many self-help and spiritual professionals for improving all aspects of your life, and some specifically encourage the practice of meditation for manifesting your desires. Deepak Chopra encourages people to do some form of meditation once or twice daily for 10-30 minutes each. Chopra likes meditation for health, stress-release, and getting in touch with "the source" or God or infinite energy, etc. Wayne Dyer encourages daily meditation as well and even has a CD called "Meditation for Manifesting" which has a nightly gratitude meditation and a morning meditation for manifesting your desire. Dyer says that when you're both grateful for what you have and intending what you want, in the serenity of meditation, you can create any reality you want - manifest any desire.

Does it work?
Does meditation actually work for manifesting desires? I've heard some people say it really works and others who were unsuccessful. Has anyone had success with this method? Do you have any tips?
Thanks,
Chris
Great ideas from meditating...
I get my best ideas to help manifest my desires when I meditate. I am able to clear my mind, and then a great idea will just pop into my head. It's like when you're trying to remember the name of something all day long and then once you decide to just let it go, it all of a sudden occurs to you. That's what it feels like when you let go all of your thoughts, but you still have desires (not that you're consciously thinking about though) and then there is suddenly room for a brilliant idea to find its way into your mind. Once I get a good idea like that, I go write it down because I don't want to forget it if I continue to meditate. Like Jack Canfield says, when you have inspired thought, act on it! So yes, I do find meditation has been successful for me in manifesting my desires.
